MaineStreet

(31 Ratings)
Every gay destination has its epicenter - this is it
MaineStreet has the unenviable position of having to cater to every whim of gay culture: guys, girls, sports fans, music vid lovers, drag queens and other assorted drama. Luckily, this plex has a knack for adaptation, and a penchant (need?) for constant change. This year that change takes the form of a new dance club and the results are astounding. It's still P'town's Paramount on a budget, but after a couple drinks the music all sounds the same.

Nicer outside than in

MaineStreet during the day was a great place to sit outside and have a relaxing drink while enjoying the weather and people-watching. (A tip- don't order anything frozen... the bartender couldn't get the ice/alcohol ratio right and I ended up leaving my drink mostly untouched). At night, Mainestreet is only open inside to keep noise down for the neighbors, but it's not so cute. The night we were there we were blasted out the door by bad country-karaoke, and went to Oxygen instead.
