Front Porch Piano Bar

(37 Ratings)
Not your father's Front Porch, but still OGT's anchor
Under the ownership of golden touch-Wayne Wescott, this piano bar institution (probably the only one left in New England) went from low to high brow in its aesthetic a couple years ago - a lot of people were put off by the replacement of the backyard BBQ furniture with the new acrylic tables and chairs, but they've adapted. No matter, the place is packed and the programming has been expanded to include comedians and other entertainers. Food, too!

We won't return!

Everyone doesn't like everyplace. We used to enjoy this piano bar however. We went there evertime we were in Ogunquit, since the 1990's. New owner had changed the bar's image way too much! When we were there we talked with several out of town people who said that they had gone but would never return. Way too bad, as this could be a wonderful bar as it was in the past.

Great Place!

I have been going to the Front Porch for years and the waiters/servers are exceptional! The adult comedy can be a little harsh, but straight people seem to love it! The food is of very high quality, and the pianists are great!

RUDE STAFF and OWNER

I have been going to Ogunquit for about 6 years and although I like the village I will never go back to the Front Porch again. Their staff/owner and entertainers are some of the rudest I have ever encountered. The owner of the B and B I was staying at said that the Front Porch runs off more travelers to Ogunquit than anybody. Such a shame. Two other bars there that are much better and they are FRIENDLY to tourists. Also ate at the downstairs cafe at the Front Porch and it was also awful.

Yes, It's Different, But it's Also The Same

I must take up gentle cudgels with those who feel that the Front Porch has changed too much in recent years. Granted, it's not the same old place, but it's still has the same welcoming ambiance and the same passion for entertaining the crowd that it always had. I've been coming since John "Mother" Revere owned it and yes, I too loved the vibrant yellows and greens of the old decor, but I was just as happy to see Wayne Wescott's imprimatur when it came time to put his mark on a venerable institution. The colors and the furnishings have changed, but the Front Porch remains a beacon in the heart of Ogunquit- it radiates a warm aura of acceptance and tolerance for all comers, no matter which side of the garden gate you may be swinging on! Come for the great piano music, the entertainment, the drinks and the food- you'll fall in love with the Front Porch all over again!
