The Betty Doon is no frills, in fact, the rooms, with their pine paneling and make-shift showers so close to the toilets that you need to sit on them sideways, is a little like a Maine summer camp. That's why people love it. The price reflects the take-away, the rooms are clean, it's one can of Diet Coke away from the beach, and it has parking. Book on-line.

4 friends and I stayed 2 nights in this great little place! Smack in the middle of gay Ogunquit and super close to the beautiful beach, the Betty Doon may be dated, but in the fun cute way. Rick, who owns and runs the place, was nice as can be. Our room was clean if not luxurious, and had 2 queen beds and a single, with a big bathroom and ample closet space. A tip: don't stay in rooms 5-9 if you want to sleep late, the store above opens at 8 am and the floorboards creaking will ruin your beauty sleep.
